The Digital Kennicott

A Digital Edition of Benjamin Kennicott's Vetus Testamentum Hebraicum cum variis lectionibus

The Digital Kennicott (DiKe) is the first TEI-encoded edition of Benjamin Kennicott's Vetus Testamentum Hebraicum cum variis lectionibus (Oxford 1776, 1780). The Vetus Testamentum Hebraicum is an almost unique attempt at an extensive collation of variants of the text of the Hebrew Bible from both medieval manuscripts and printed editions.

The edition is the result of the project The Digital Kennicott: Textual Transmission of the Hebrew Bible in the Middle Ages (DiKe — TexTHBM; PRIN 2022, project no. 2022EA8FC7), funded by the European Union (NextGenerationEU).
